Shannon Wilson

Shannon has extensive experience treating adults, both individuals and couples. She has expertise in reproductive and maternal mental health and enjoys working with women and families during pregnancy and new parenthood who may be experiencing difficulties with role changes and identity shift, as well as parents who are experiencing prenatal/postpartum depression, anxiety, or experiencing trauma from birth or early postpartum experiences. Shannon has supported many parents who have experienced pregnancy or infant loss and can work with people individually or as a couple as they move through this unique grieving process.


Additionally, Shannon has specialized training in the treatment of OCD and related anxiety disorders using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy, and Inference-Based Cognitive Therapy and has special interest in working with individuals experiencing anxiety disorders of any type.


Shannon is licensed by the State of Iowa as a Mental Health Counselor and holds Certification in Perinatal Mental Health. She has a Bachelors degree in Social Work and earned her Masters Degree in Counseling, Rehabilitation and Student Development in 2010 from the University of Iowa.

I am a perinatal specialist and have been supporting perinatal women for 9 years. The additional training I have pursued in the area of treating OCD and related anxiety disorders has been incredibly useful in my practice, where I work to bridge cognitive behavioral work and holding.
