KKTC Workshops

One of the guiding principles of The Karen Kleiman Training Center is to put the needs of the holding therapist front and center so we can directly address clinical concerns and personal vulnerabilities.  Integrating The Art of Holding Perinatal Women in Distress model of intervention, our new workshop model enables us to offer more trainings and cover a variety of talking points and trending topics that are at the forefront of our work.

The Postpartum Stress Center and The Karen Kleiman Training Center have the heart of the clinician in mind. We understand how rewarding this work can be. We also understand how the how challenging and provocative it can feel on a very personal level. When we bring our most authentic professional and individual self to this work, our own experiences can complicate our very best intentions. It can be helpful to find a safe, professional space to explore the intersection between what we have lived and learned and how we sit with a perinatal woman in distress. Our hope is that these workshops will promote a more thoughtful exploration of the complex and emotional issues confronting perinatal therapists as they pursue this incredibly gratifying career path.

While the workshops will focus on a specific topic, our objective is to use that topic as a guide to delve into how that topic might raise issues of vulnerability or opportunities to deepen your clinical experience and expertise.

The new specialized workshops which will provide:

  1. Small group virtual format enabling a highly interactive experience

  2. Lower fee

  3. Shorter duration (1.5 hours)

  4. Increase opportunity to dig deeply and intimately into this work

  5. Q & A format which encourages personal participation and problem-solving dialogues

The Q & A format will enable therapists to bring their concerns and cases up for discussion in order to maximize individual learning, insight and professional growth.  Come prepared to tackle the hard questions and enter a safe clinical space where you can explore complex and nuanced concerns with other perinatal therapists under expert guidance.
