Self-Disclosure: What you Need to Know A workshop on the pros and cons of self-disclosure and how working with the perinatal population raises unique and complex challenges. Together, participants will explore how Holding techniques can help you remain authentic and intentional while maintaining boundaries and protecting the therapeutic alliance. Do you notice that what you were taught about self-disclosure and boundaries in therapy feels different when working with perinatal clients? Do you know why? Do you feel prepared? In this workshop, participants will: 1. Review best practices from The Art of Holding Perinatal Women in Distress 2. Examine how self-disclosure can enhance or compromise your work 3. Discuss how vulnerable you may be and how to regulate your emotions and increase resilience 4. Be invited to discuss relevant cases and receive consultation. Facilitated by The Postpartum Stress Center's Hilary Waller, our Director of Education and Programming and a psychotherapist at The Postpartum Stress Center. The Postpartum Stress Center, LLC has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 7461. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified.
