The treatment of OCD in the perinatal population has nuances that can often be challenging and stressful for clinicians. What happens if a client’s feared outcome comes true? How do we distinguish between OCD and psychosis and feel comfortable making that distinction? What can we do to account for the impact of social media and technology on OCD symptoms? How do we navigate challenges with family systems of clients experiencing OCD symptoms and address enablement and resentment? How do we manage situations in which clients have valid concern for their children’s well-being? NOW TWO HOURS! Presenter: Noah Suzuki, LPC, Perinatal Mental Health Counselor, The Postpartum Stress Center, will introduce the symptom profile obsessive-compulsive distress associated with the perinatal period and explore case examples and treatment approaches that can be applied to individual cases.
